This is the house used for the Beaumont's in the movie "Blue Velvet". In one of the opening scenes a firetruck is seen driving past the house. We then see Jack Harvey's character Tom Beaumont who plays the father of Kyle MacLachlan's character 'Jeffrey'. Tom has an attack in the backyard and is taken to the hospital. His son Jeffrey is then called at school to come home to visit his father.
The front exterior of this house is also used during a chase scene where Laura Dern's character 'Sandy' and Jeffrey are chased by Sandy's boyfriend that ends up in front of the house. Outside they find Isabella Rossellini's character 'Dorothy' naked outside They put her in Jeffrey's car and take her to Sandy/Detective William's house where they end up calling an ambulance for her.
I was lucky enough to take a tour of the inside of this house during an open house when it was on the market back in 2007. The living room scenes and stairway scenes were all actually filmed in the house. The landscaping in the backyard even looked the same as in the movie. If only I had the money...I'd be typing this waymark from that house.
