Built in the late 1840s, this is the former home of the aforementioned George B. Kinkead who also served as Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln’s attorney. It now houses the Living Arts & Science Center.

The Kinkead House is one of the few antebellum mansions remaining within the northeast quadrant of the original boundaries of Lexington. Probably built in the late 1840s as a Greek Revival townhouse, the Kinkead House was remade in the Italianate style after 1853. Members of the Kinkead family donated the house to the Living Arts and Science Center in 1981; the Center has improved and stabilized the property and continues carrying out its unique mission at this site.
