From the day-use parking area (fee required for parking) take the Hidden Springs trail - which is a hardpacked dirt road - east up to Coyote Peak trail for a 600-foot climb to Coyote Peak. It's very smooth but quite steep. From the top, many people return on the single-track Rocky Ridge trail -- as its name implies, it's got lots of fist sized rocks embedded in the soft dirt trail. Helmets are required and bicycles must observe a downhill speed limit of 15 mph -- the park rangers do hand out tickets sometimes.
