The Royal Dutch Mint in Utrecht has been responsible for striking Dutch coinage since 1811 up to the present day.
In the first half of the 19th century, there was an additional mint in Brussels, but after Belgian separated from The Netherlands, the Mint in Utrecht has been responsible for all Dutch coinage, with the exception of coins struck for the colonies during the German occupation from 1940 - 1945.
The Dutch denomination was the gulden (guilder) until 2002, when it was changed into the euro.
