The 2 story fortified Hall was built in the mid 13th.Century,the stone built castle has had a few changed of ownership over the years until before being abandoned in 1650 it was used as a farm.
The castle is noe in ruins but well worth visiting, some of the walls seem to be defying gravity with the amount of lean they have.
The castle is now managed by English Heritage and there is no admission charge.
The castle stands very nearby to Edlingham medieval church, which is often visited at the same time as the castle.
