Standardbred horses
Potatoes and garlic

Is there a connection ?

The ghost sign on the wall above reads "MISSION" then the next word is not clear. I think it's "CARTER". I think this was a moving-and-storage business, dating all the way back to the days of horse-drawn wagons, thus the Standardbred horses (for sale or for hire?). I also bet they stored root crops here, along with crates, trunks, and tack. It would have made a good sideline business for the winter months when there was less demand for cartage service.
