Black Hole is a Sci Fi original movie, directed by Tibor Takács.
Something goes awry at a particle accelerator facility and a black hole begins to form. It takes much of St. Louis in its wake. There is also an energy-based monster that appears from the black hole that causes havoc.
The film is noteworthy for using many distinctive pieces of St. Louis architecture as locations in the story. There is the St. Louis planetarium as the headquarters for the research project, the Gateway Arch is destroyed in one scene as is Busch Stadium and the city hall.
The film stars Judd Nelson as the main character, Eric Bryce, a nuclear physicist essential in solving this problem, with Kristy Swanson playing Dr. Shannon Mueller as the secondary leading character.
