Shongaloo is located in the nice rolling wooded hill country of Northwest, Louisiana. As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 162 people, 65 households, and 47 families residing at Shongaloo. Shongaloo has one school and one corner store, and is located 12 miles from a grocery store. Shongaloo is a small village but has one of the largest city limits in Louisiana.. Six highways run through Shongaloo. They are LA 159, LA 2, ALT LA 2, LA 615, LA 157, And LA 808.
