Close to Dartmoor, Lifton is well supplied with gourmay establishments, and the old 18th Century former Coaching Inn of the The Arundell Arms Hotel, dating back to Saxon times, pictured here, is also renowned for its fishing in the Rivers Tamar and Lyd. From the sitting room a 250 year old cock fighting pit can be seen (one of only a few left in England now) which is used as the hotel's fishing rod and tackle room. Well worth a visit.
