The Helton Creek Falls are found in the mountains of northeast Georgia, in part of the Chattahoochee National Forest. Access to the falls is via a 2.2 mile drive on a paved, then unpaved road (most is unpaved), followed by a 0.3 mile trail from the small parking area.
The lower falls are encountered first along the trail. A steep stairway leads visitors to the base of the fall, and allows for exploring the continuation of Helton Creek. The drop here is estimated at 20 feet.
The upper falls are reached by continuing on the main trail until it ends at an observation deck. These falls are more dramatic, and drop about 100 feet into a pool below.
