This clock is located in the handsome tower of Saint Bartholomew`s church in the town of Lostwithiel.
Most of the church dates from the 14th century, though the tower though the tower is a couple of hundred years older. The design is influenced by churches in Brittany where Lostwithiel had trading connections in the middle-ages.
The clock mechanism was built by the "Gillett & Bland Steam Clock Factory" in Croydon, 1878. It is owned by Lostwithiel Town Council & was refurbished in 2009.
