The locomotive was built by General Electric. The locomotive was designed for
industrial and light switching duties. The 44-ton locomotive was built to that
weight to skirt a 1940's labor union requirement which stipulated that a
locomotive weight 90,000 lbs or more required both an engineer and fireman, the
weight of this locomotive only required and engineer. For further information
