The Rarangi Millennium Rock is situated in Rarangi, Marlborough. New Zealand. This is the site where the first rays of sun touched the South Island on January 1st 2000.

There is a hole in the rock (shown in the pictures) where if you looked through at sunrise on January 1st 2000 you would have seen the first rays.
This view looked east over the sea then the hills of the North Island.
If you look round the otherside, then the view is inland.
Can you tell us who created the item: The residents of rarangi, new Zealand.
