The land for the church was donated by A.M. Drake and the money to build the church was donated by New York’s Trinity Episcopal Church. The building was designed by architect Ellis Lawrence, the founder of the University of Oregon School of Architecture. The cornerstone was set on June 9, 1929 and contains time capsule.
