In 1985 William McVey (1904-1995) made this sculpture of his airedale, McDog. The bronze work now rests on display in the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. McVey was a well known and respected artists whose works include the statue of Winston Churchill at the Brithish Embassy in Washington and the statues on the porch and crypt of the National Cathedral. McDog lived from 1958 until 1974.
