The church building was originally built as the Congregational Church of Sturbridge in 1910. In Congregational, Baptist and Unitarian church of Sturbridge and Fiskdale formed a federation in which they could share one pastor between them to save money. This federation continues to this date with little change in the federation agreement through the years.
