This particular Wright home has had far more influence on California residential architecture than Wright would have ever imagined. Only a few years after it was constructed, the Bazett home was for rent, and Joseph Eichler moved in with his wife and family. Eichler was inspired to a new career of architect and housing developer by Wright's use of natural materials and daylight. Eichler would go on build more than 10,000 mass-produced, but carefully crafted, open-plan homes in Northern California.
In 1945, the Bazett house was sold to the Frank family, who had additional space designed by Wright added on to the original small house. The Frank family lived there for more than 55 years. It remains a private home today.
Due to extensive tree cover of the hillside lot, it is hard to catch more than a glimpse of the building without trespassing. At various times, the family has allowed photo shoots of the exterior and interior, so there are plenty of details available in books and on the net. Coords for this waymark are taken at the corner of the public street.
