The murals were created as part of Purbeck Art Week in 2007. They depicts the past, present and future of the site and were created voluntarily.
The hall was created in the 1940s as a Mess Hall and then was used as a wind surfing school, cafe and bingo hall. In the 1990s it was deemed unsafe and now awaits planning permission for redevelopment.
