State Theater in downtown Kingsport is being restored to its original 1935 Erle Stillwell-designed architecture with an interior "Mediterranean Garden" theme and an "Aztec Art Deco" exterior.

Street address: 155 Broad Street, Kingsport, TN 37660. The marque was replaced in October 2007 while keeping the vintage appearance. Appears the interior renovation is taking longer as it started in 2005 and is still in progress. The referenced website contains very limited information (best are the old blueprints), but has not been updated since October 2006.
