Reed lake is a shallow saline lake (6 mi x 2 mi) just south of the Trans Canada Highway. During spring and fall migration tens of thousands birds pass through this area. This is an IBA (Important Bird Area) with Globally Significant numbers of Colonial Waterbirds/Seabirds, Franklin's Gull, Stilt Sandpiper and Tundra Swan.
