This two-story block-long building houses well more than 200,000 items including books (of course), audio books, compact discs and DVD's. In its special collections are sheet music, genealogy records, back issues of newspapers on microfilm, and more than 400 different magazines.
This branch has special equipment for visually handicapped and blind people to be able to access library materials.
There is preschool story time scheduled every week, and frequently lectures, book club meetings, and school age events as well.
This building replaces the previous library at the same location, which was constructed in 1903 and was considered too small by the early 1950's. Finally, in 1966 the old library was demolished to make room for the construction of this modern one.
