This beach is accessed from the car park at the top of the hill near the Caravan Park.
The Lulworth Estate website describes the beach:
'Durdle Door Beach is a large beach dominated by the famous Durdle Door Arch. It varies along its length between sand and small pebbles depending on the winter storms. It is a clean beach, consistently meeting the highest standards set in the Bathing Water Directive.
It is popular for swimming, scuba diving, kayaking, snorkelling and fishing.
There are no facilities on the beach or water sports zoning, intentionally kept entirely uncommercial. However, refreshments and ice creams are sold from a mobile kiosk adjacent to the path leading to both Durdle Door and Man o' War beaches. There are public toilets at Durdle Door Holiday Park with facilities for disabled persons, a shop for essentials and non-residents are welcome at the Man o’ War Bar where good food and refreshments can be enjoyed.
The beach is approached through the Durdle Door Holiday Park. A pay and display car park (open Mar to Oct) is situated at the top of the cliff and the beach is accessed by a steep 800 metre long footpath. Funds from the car park are used for the conservation and upkeep of this stunning area.
Directions: Durdle Door is just west of West Lulworth on the B3070 which leaves the A352 (Wareham to Dorchester road) at Holmbridge.'
