The Depot was built in 1895 on the Cleveland, Lorain & Wheeling Railroad line (later Baltimore & Ohio, then Chesapeake and Ohio, now CSX), about 1½ miles east of its current location. It served the community until 1968, known as Valley City Station. It was moved to its current location and refurbished by volunteers in time for the 1976 US Bicentennial.
Behind the depot is a 0-4-0 swteam locomotive and an ex B&O caboose.
