The New River is approximately 320 miles long, flowing through the states of North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia in the United States.
Parking/put-in/launching information:
You can park and launch anywhere along the river that is not private property. This is a very laid back area and used by many.

Paddling conditions to be expected:
This is mostly a flatwater area. There are times that you will have to walk if the rain has been scarce, other times there are small rapid areas. It's never the same twice. After the rain, it can be very tricky as the water moves very fast and if you are not expecting it can quickly turn over.

Difficulty of the trip:
Most of the time very little experience is needed in this area.

Length of trip: 2

Portages:
unknown

Permits required:
none

Type of trip:
We usually drop bikes near the finish area and take the car and tubes to the put in point.
