The beach is owned by the National Trust like the nearby Studland Bay Knoll Beach and South Beach. Middle Beach is a popular little cove with many beach huts and fine sand. There are many remains of World War II items here, such as Fort Henry, Dragon's Teeth (anti-tank concrete blocks) and Pill Boxes. They can all be explored for free and walks along the beach to the rocky outcrops can be enjoyed, but watch the tide.

The beach is accessed via some rather steep steps from the National Trust car park above or from the roadway ramp from the southern end. There are toliets, a cafe and a National Trust shop all present on the platform overlooking the beach. On a fine day there are brilliant views across the bay towards Bournemouth and beyond.
