We searched high and low, well - mostly very low, and eventually we were rewarded when we found this big bolt. It is well protected being within the chain winch enclosure on the east side of the road. After much shuffling of sand to the amusement of the nearby ferry muggles we uncovered it and here it is!

The bolt is in the concrete pavement 1.2m north of the winch. This is the GPS Monitor Station for SOUTH HAVEN POINT STN17. It was last verified in 1989 and is recorded as being 1.8796m above sea level (and falling).
