This fountain is designed in honor of Canada's Confederation, 1867 and through its various time cycles and structures, relates the history of Confederation. The arch represents the aim of the Fathers of Confederation to unify the provinces from the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts. The total cycle lasts 10 min and at night it is iluminated by 58 - 500 Wt underwater lamps.
There are 30 nozzles powered by 4 - 7 HP pumps Spraying approximately 1400 gallons of water per minute.
Cycle 1: 4 jets at bases of arch, represents the 1st four provinces to join in Confederation - Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
Cycle 2: 6 jets, 3 at each end of arch, represents the next 6 provinces to join in Confederation - Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Newfoundland.
Cycle 3: 20 ft ring of 12 jets, representsthe provinces and the two Territories.
