Compass Tower is an eight sided storm tower on Compass Point, it was built in the 1820's as a Coastguard Shelter - its sides indicating the points of a compass.
This tower would have been used for the coast guard to watch the
sea and cliffs.
The tower is situated on a cliff-top hill, there are 2 steps up into the tower, otherwise you are on ground level. No extra height is needed.
