Beautiful park honoring the brave men and women of our military. It opened on Independence Day 1991.

This park is located on the Tampa Bypass Canal. The large grassy areas with picnic tables is right on the water. The park was designed and constructed by the US Army Corps of Engineers and is operated and maintained by the Hilsborough County Parks and Recreation Dept.
There is a museum in the park with displays that highlight the role of Florida and its residents in military campaigns throughout history. The museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on patriotic holidays.
Outdoor displays include the Veterans' Freedom Memorial dedicated to all American veterans and a Vietnam-era helicopter. - info from the park website
