The 20-foot tall statue of St Francis of Assisi, patron saint of birds, animals and the environment in the parking area greets patients to the hospital as they arrive. The hospital was built to serve the needs of the North-east side of the city. Other artwork has been placed in the halls of the new hospital as a soothing presence for patients and visitors.
