This cut bench mark in on the left hand side of the Church entrance.
The church was established in 1836, but work commenced in 1834 and the rectangular building cost £1827. Unusually, it is aligned north to south.
Parish growth necessitated the addition of a wing around 1850; originally designed to seat 436 members the capacity was increased to seat 485.
Forest Row is situated on the northern edge of Ashdown Forest.
