Marker placed by students of Valparaiso University in memory of the faithful campus dog, George. 1937 - 1947
According to the alumni website, George was owned by one of the university professors.
I don't know any more of the history of the old campus dog. If you know some bit of the story, please add it here. The gravestone was probably added a few years after the dog's death. Was this some symbol of hope in the midst of the war years?
