Fire Station 1

As part of the consolidation of City services, all City offices were relocated when the new City center complex was completed in May 1972. Fire Station 1 was moved to its present location at 80 South 300 West, from the previous location on the corner of 200 North and 200 West.

On May 9, 2001, Provo City broke ground for a new Fire Station on the east side of town (Firestation #5). Original plans were made to move all Firemen and equipment to this new facility and only have the administrative staff remain at Fire Station #1. But due to public debates, Provo City decided to keep a reduced staff of EMT and still house the administrative staff. In 2006, remodeling of the current Fire Station #1 began. Completion was in 2007 with Community Development moving into the west side of the Fire Station and the administrative staff and EMT personnel in the east side.
