9 acres of greenspace at the foot of Main Street, with boat launch, docks and riverwalk.
Growing up in Poughkeepsie, I remember this as the destination of city parades. At the time it was essentially an unpaved parking lot which served the Hudson River Day Line dock. Even so, in summer it was cooler down by the river than in other areas of town, and people would come here in the evening to fish or just cool off.
It is now a much more pleasant place to do the same things and more. Named for a former mayor of Poughkeepsie.
