Emerald
The Emerald mining complex has been in operation since the 1970s and is located just south of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Emerald has the ability to store clean coal and blend variable sulfur products to meet customer requirements. Once processed in the preparation plant and blended to the customer’s specifications, the coal is loaded into unit trains operated by the Norfolk Southern or the CSX railroads. The mine also has the option to ship a portion of its coal by truck. Multi-modal options and longstanding relationships with our transportation partners help Foundation Coal get our coal to the customer where and when they need it.
