The cemetery is the final resting place for more then 6,000. The cemetery has the graves of many officers, cadets, enlisted and civilian personnel associated with West Point. The cemetery has graves of veterans from the Revolutionary War to present time. The West Point Cemetery is not part the the national cemetery system but is
administered similarly however with different eligibility rules for burial
(former graduates, spouses, and others who have contributed to West Point) and

Date cemetery was established: Officially established 1817 however people buried on grounds before that time.
