Barnard Castle Tourist Information Centre is ideally located close to the town centre and next to Scar Top picnic and children’s play area. As well are being Teesdale’s main source of Tourist Information, it offers a Cyber Coffee Shop with high-speed Internet Access, including BT Openzone Wi-Fi hotspot and serves freshly ground fair-trade coffee and locally made cakes and biscuits. I can recommend both the coffee and the internet.
A wealth of free Information Leaflets and saleable goods such as local crafts, souvenirs, books and maps are available, including picturesque circular walks, some of which guide you directly from the Centre.
I found the friendly team of staff most helpful.
