The Tift Theatre opened Jan of 1937. The first movie was "Pennies From Heaven" The theatre closed in 1987 and remained dark until the community joined together and refurbished it. Today it hosts live performances and special events. The neon globe at the top of the marquee flashes off and on making it appear to spin. The word theatre, lights up one letter at a time, several letters did not light up on either side. I am not sure if it's an electrical problem or the neon itself. They do not appear to be broken.
