The strange columnar Arrowweed looks a bit like some strange cornfield in this dry and arid region.  But as the saying goes, "if you build it, they will come".  Sure enough, you'll see people pulled in the small turnout to take a picture of these strange plants and marvel at the interesting way they've adapted to this harsh environment.
