This is a custom made, stationary pole, 2.5 feet high on a socle, located in the interior window sill of this upscale hair cuttery and spa. Located on E. Kings Highway, this is one of three barber poles on the street but definitely the most unique.

I went inside to learn more about the barber pole. I spoke with a man named Franklin who apparently made this thing. He used PVC piping, paint, the top of a cologne bottle, a part of a lamp, and a piece from a shower on/off handle. He commented painting the stripes were the hardest part. I have to say it looked pretty professional to me. With a small motor, I told him, he could get this thing to spin, to which he replied, "not necessary".
