WHO HAS GIVEN US FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
IT IS THE SOLDIER, NOT THE CAMPUS
ORGANIZER, WHO HAS GIVEN US THE
FREEDOM TO DEMONSTRATE.
IT IS THE SOLDIER WHO SALUTES THE FLAG,
WHO SERVES BENEATH THE FLAG,
AND WHOSE COFFIN IS DRAPED BY THE FLAG,
WHO ALLOWS THE PROTESTER TO BURN
THE FLAG.

Description of Memorial:
Black Marble monument with the seals of the 5 services, and US flag carried by an Eagle emblazoned on the front. Also on the front is the dedication. On the back is the poem by Father O'Brien (USMC Chaplin) "It Is The Soldier". All residing within a small kidney shaped garden.
