"Dedicated to the men and women who honorably serve in the Armed Forces of the United States, past, present and future during war and peace. Their devotion to duty, since the birth of this nation, will never be forgotten." IT IS THE SOLDIER
IT IS THE SOLDIER, NOT THE REPORTER WHO HAS GIVEN US FREEDOM OF THE PRESS.
IT IS THE SOLDIER, NOT THE POET WHO HAS GIVEN US FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
IT IS THE SOLDIER, NOT THE CAMPUS ORGANIZER, WHO HAS GIVEN US THE FREEDOM TO DEMONSTRATE.
IT IS THE SOLDIER WHO SALUTES THE FLAG, WHO SERVES BENEATH THE FLAG, AND WHOSE COFFIN IS DRAPED BY THE FLAG, WHO ALLOWS THE PROTESTER TO BURN THE FLAG.

 Description of Memorial: Black Marble monument with the seals of the 5 services, and US flag carried by an Eagle emblazoned on the front. Also on the front is the dedication. On the back is the poem by Father O'Brien (USMC Chaplin) "It Is The Soldier". All residing within a small kidney shaped garden.
