The construction of the Bradford County Courthouse began in May of 1896 after a low bid of $113,866.00 was approved by the County Commissioners. The courthouse was built with a combination of Neo-Classical, Early Renaissance Revial and Beaux Arts styles.
Construction proceeded and the building was completed and occupied in the fall of 1896. Architects for the construction of the courthouse were Israel Lehman and Theodore Schmitt a firm from Cleveland, Ohio.
The soldiers monument in the front of the courthouse was added to the grounds in the early 1900's being purchased by the County Commissioners.
