Tome' Hill in central New Mexico, USA - Pictographs on Waymarking.com

Found these petroglyphs near a cache I own (GCJ2N9)on Tome' Hill about 30 miles south of Albuquerque, NM, USA. This is a volcanic hill that stands 400 feet above the Rio Grande vally and is about 1 mile from the river. It stands by itself on the flood plain of the Rio Grande and is a natural sentinel point. One can see 50 miles up and down the valley.

You can park at N34d 45.442/W106d 42.810 and it is just a short hike part way up the hill. This area is privately owned by a development company but is open to the public and reserved as open space. Unfortunately, the petroglyphs are unprotected and have some defacing and vandelism.

These petroglyphs are believed to be by the Anasazi people from about 900 to 1500 years ago.
