For many years, a Blue Plaque marked the exact location of one of most famous addresses in literature - 221B Baker Street.

The Blue Plaque has recently been moved further north from its original location to accommodate development (if you peek through the construction fencing, you can see the circle's former spot) and to allow the Sherlock Holmes Museum the honor of owning this address.

The Blue Plaque reads as it would for any other famous person:
221b
Sherlock Holmes
Consulting Detective
1881-1904

Visiting the doorway is free, but there is a £6.00 fee for the museum.

"The Sign of Four" was chosen because it is one of my favorite Sherlock Holmes mysteries.
