Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Chartered on March 8, 1852 as the fourth fraternity there. Inactive 1856-59 after the chapter was split when six Dekes broke from the chapter to found Sigma Chi; inactive 1873-1889 when the school was closed due to financial difficulties and revived October 16, 1889. In 1985 university recognition was withdrawn as the result of alcohol violations, and the chapter was reactivated on April 15, 1989. ~taken from following link.
