The Mission is arguably the most popular of the 21 California Missions. Within the grounds are the Father Serra's Church, the churyard or burial ground, the Great Stone Church, several beautifully landscaped courtyards, adobe barracks, and the 'industrial' area. The Mission is famous for the swallows that 'arrive' each year and nest in the Mission. A two-block walk from the Metrolink/Amtrak train station, it is the perfect get-away for Los Angelinos.
