An entire mini-park was established and built to honor firefighters. It is located on the grounds of the Chews Landing Fire Department. It features a cast statue of a firefighter rescuing a child. You wold be hard pressed to find a nicer memorial.

The memorial park is dedicated to the fire personnel who risk their lives in the service of their community, Fire District #2. It was dedicated on May 14, 1988 and commissioned by board of fire commissioners Fire District #2, Chews Landing.
The statue is called Fireman and Child. The image was lent in cooperation with the Lakeland Firefighters. It was sculpted by John Giannnotti.
