This Victorian house in unlike the neighboring structures. Its landscaping has a Japanese feel to it and it is more compact than the other homes with much more significant detail crammed into a much more smaller space. While it adds to the historical significance of the local historical distritct, it does so in its most unique and colorful way.
Located at 509 Chester Avenue a quarter mile or so from downtown Moorestown, this is one of 351 contributing buildings/structures to this historic district.
The Department of the Interior sent me the following narrative/information on this house:
"c.1890. 2 ½ story L-shaped Queen Anne-style frame house, clapboarded with shingled gables. Wraparound porch with square columns. Double glazed and paneled doors. Front and side gables, central hipped roof, all pitches slate shingled. Queen Anne multi-light sash, balcony at second floor above entrance. - Contributing.”
