The is a pougnant memorial to those effected by the dictatorship in Brazil. The The period between 1964 and 1985 of Brazilian history was known as the "lead years " ("anos de chumbo") due to the military dictatorship that followed the 1964 Brazilian coup d'état. It began on April 1, 1964, with a coup, and officially ended with the inauguration of President José Sarney on March 15, 1985.
Now that you know some history to put the plaque into conext. There are two questions to answer:
1. How many years are mentioned on the plaque (look for the number before the word 'anos')
2. What year was the plaque placed. (Interesting when you take into account the time period of the dictatorship)
