Designed by Charles Christian Hook, the Puedmont and Northern Railroad Depot was completed around 1912 and stayed in use until passenger service ended in 1951.
The Depot was then turned into a museum for the Piedmont and Northern Railroad until 2004 when the lease expired and the owner did not choose to renew. It is currently a ladies boutique.
There is talk of reopening the line as a shuttle service to Charlotte, NC.
